New “Cars 2” Poster

March 22, 2011 Leave a comment

Somehow I get the feeling that Pixar is really wanting to drive the point home that “Cars 2” is no longer confined to just the cute little town of Radiator Springs…

Why am I the only one asking where the hell Sally is in all of this? I need to know why she is no longer the “nut” to McQueen’s “lug.”

Lots of Kung Fu Panda 2 Character Shots

March 10, 2011 Leave a comment

With all of this talk of tiger blood in recent weeks, I think Charlie Sheen may be missing the boat. If you want to really “win,” it’s all about the panda blood. Check out these brand new character shots from “Kung Fu Panda 2,” as well as the synopsis for the film below.

And now to top off what may be the longest post in Bleeding Pixels history, I give you… THE SYNOPSIS!

“Po is now living his dream as The Dragon Warrior, protecting the Valley of Peace alongside his friends and fellow kung fu masters, The Furious Five – Tigress, Crane, Mantis, Viper and Monkey. But Po’s new life of awesomeness is threatened by the emergence of a formidable villain, who plans to use a secret, unstoppable weapon to conquer China and destroy kung fu. It is up to Po and The Furious Five to journey across China to face this threat and vanquish it. But how can Po stop a weapon that can stop kung fu? He must look to his past and uncover the secrets of his mysterious origins; only then will he be able to unlock the strength he needs to succeed.”

The film stars Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Lui, David Cross, James Hong, Gary Oldman, Michelle Yeoh, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Victor Garbor.

“Kung Fu Panda 2” is directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson and released by DreamWorks Animation. It will be in theaters on May 26 this year.

You’ve just been synopsified!

Brand New Puss in Boots Trailer!

Wow… Dreamworks Animation is going nuts today with trailer releases, and I assume these will play before “Rango” in theaters.

As with the last post, just click the poster if you want to watch it.

Rango In Theaters Today!

The goofy little lizard named, Rango, comes riding into town today!

The much-hyped film starring Johnny Depp and directed by Gore Verbinski is currently sitting at an 86% Fresh Rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and has an audience rating of 81%.

I’ll be taking it in tonight, and will try to post my thoughts early next week. I’m also going to try and post my thoughts on Charlie Sheen, and maybe I’ll just combine the two…

Dreamworks Animation Bringing “Rumblewick” to the Big Screen

Boy oh boy has Dreamworks Animation been announcing a lot of films lately. First we had “Rise of the Guardians,” then “Flawed Dogs,” and now “Rumblewick.”

From the Press Release:

GLENDALE, Calif., March 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. (Nasdaq: DWA) today announced that it will bring Rumblewick to the big screen. Director Tim Johnson (Over The Hedge, Antz) and writer Jim Herzfeld (Meet the Fockers, Meet the Parents) are collaborating on the feature project, which is inspired by the children’s book, “My Unwilling Witch (The Rumblewick Letters)” by Hiawyn Oram and Sarah Warburton. DreamWorks Animation development executives Chris Kuser and Gregg Taylor are overseeing the project at the studio.

“The fascinating world of witches and witches’ familiars is perfectly suited for the medium of animation, where anything goes,” said DreamWorks Animation’s Chief Creative Officer, Bill Damaschke. “Combined with the magically creative and comedic sensibilities of Tim Johnson and Jim Herzfeld, we look forward to bringing the world of Rumblewick to life.”

“The odds are stacked against our main character, a hard-working rabbit. Telling the story of his struggle and triumph is a fantastic journey. I know audiences are going to fall in love with Rumblewick,” added Tim Johnson.

Rumblewick will follow the adventures of a magician’s rabbit for whom the invitation to learn real magic and train as a witch’s familiar seems like a dream come true! But the dream becomes a nightmare when he discovers he’s really a pawn in a game between rival witches. Having learned the hard way that when something seems too good to be true it probably is, he must outsmart them both to save his fuzzy little hide.

I really need to help the folks at Dreamworks with their Press Releases, because this sucker could have easily been summed up as follows:

“The guy who Directed “Antz” and the guy who wrote “Meet the Parents” are making a sweet movie about witches and bunnies.”

Dreamworks, the offer to write these babies for you still stands. You have my number…

Toy Story’s Hawaiian Vacation Snipet

Okay this made me laugh…

And notice the nice little subtle double grab he has to do to get his sunglasses off at the end.

Those Pixar people know their stuff!

Dreamworks’ “Megamind” hit on Bluray and DVD today, so go grab your copy!

I don’t want to brag, but I happen to know the brother of the Director of “Megamind,” which makes me the same loser I was before I typed that part about knowing the brother of a Director.
